Accessibility statement - eLaHub

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, this means that you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the module using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the module using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver).

AbilityNet(opens in a new tab) has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible is this website?

Wherever possible the content in this website conforms to the (opens in a new tab) WCAG Version 2.2 Level A and AA standards.

Accessibility issues and support

We have plans to develop a new more accessible website for Q4 2025. In the meantime, the following are issues that we have currently identified with the accessibility of our website and that we are working to resolve.

Colour contrast

There are a few items of text (white on pale blue background), that fail minimum requirements for colour contrast. We are addressing this issue to update the text affected.

Focus Order

When using the skip-to-content link we are aware that the focus order does not follow a meaningful sequence on all pages of our website. We are working to address this issue.

Resources Pages

The content of our Resources section is currently being updated. During this process, the way pages are identified on the navigation (as ‘Resources’) may not always match the title of the page. This issue will be resolved once review and update of the Resources section has been completed.

Alt text for people images

We are currently reviewing the alt text provided for images on our website to ensure a consistent approach.

Link text

Although in general, we recommend application of the standard WCAG AAA 2.4.9: Link Purpose (Link Only) to ensure that link purpose is clear from link text alone, in some instances due to design restraints we have used link text such as  ‘Find out more’. In these cases, we do ensure that the link purpose is clear in the context of the  surrounding text and thereby conform to WCAG A 2.4.4: Link Purpose (In Context).

Missing form label

We have identified a missing form label on our home page. This issue appears to be related to the use of Google Captcha and we are in discussions with our developer on the best way to resolve this.

Alt text for people images

We are currently reviewing the alt text provided for images on our website to ensure a consistent approach.

Heading levels

We try to ensure that Heading levels on our site are always applied in a consistent and logical manner. We are currently checking all our heading levels to ensure that no heading levels have been missed.

Focus indicator visibility

We are aware that when navigating our site with a keyboard, there are a few instances where the focus indicator is not clear due to insufficient contrast against its background or object. We are working to improve the visibility of the focus indicator to make it clear at all times.

Reporting accessibility issues with this website

We’re always looking to improve the accessibility of our website. If you find any problems not listed on this page, or you think we’re not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact us on support@elahub.net.
